The brief

Cycle Pure Agarbatti — Ad Film Production

Cycle Pure Agarbatti came to CSM for a campaign that needed to feel as considered as the product itself. What followed was a complete, in-house production — creative strategy, storyboarding, art direction, miniature set building, prop design, lighting, direction, cinematography, stop-motion photography, editing and post-production — carried by one team from the first sketch to final delivery.

Rather than shoot the story, we built it — sculpting a miniature world where every object, shadow and gesture is real, and then coaxing it to move one frame at a time.

FRAME 02

Concept & creative strategy

Every project starts as an idea worth defending. Here, that idea grew into a full visual narrative through storyboarding, shot planning, reference gathering and scene development — with each frame weighed for how well it carried the product's story.

The goal was never spectacle for its own sake. It was memory — an advertisement someone would still picture days after watching it.

FRAME 04

Miniature set & production design

The set was built, not sourced. Scale, proportion, materials, texture, composition and camera perspective were considered at every step, so that when the camera finally looked at it, the miniature world felt lived-in rather than staged.

Set construction, miniature architecture, prop styling and practical fabrication came together under one art direction to build the world the story unfolds inside.

Stop-motion production

One movement, one frame, one photograph at a time

Stop-motion is patience made visible. Every gesture in the film was built from individually captured frames, with subjects and set elements nudged forward in fractions of movement between exposures.

FRAME 06

Traditional Channapatna craftsmanship

The Jhula at the centre of the story

At the heart of the campaign sits a handcrafted Jhula, built by traditional artisans of Channapatna — a region known across India for its wooden toy-making and handicraft traditions.

It was made from white teak drawn from the agro-forests of the Western Ghats and finished with an eco-friendly coating, designed to assemble and dismantle without a single tool.

Traditional craftsmanship, contemporary function and sustainable design thinking — carried inside one small, swinging frame.
FRAME 07

Lighting, direction & cinematography

Lighting was designed to sit with the miniature sets, not fight them — shaping mood, depth, highlight and shadow inside every frame. Direction and camera composition worked alongside it, holding the film to cinematic visuals, precise framing and steady visual continuity from first frame to last.
